Los alumnos de 1º de Bachillerato del Colegio Internacional Novaschool Medina Elvira dan por finalizada la primera edición del proyecto «The Future Class» con un éxito rotundo.
The Future Class es una asignatura académica que aborda el presente y cómo construir hacia un futuro más sostenible. Educa a los alumnos sobre temas que impactan vidas y las iniciativas como los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible que abordan algunos de los principales problemas que enfrenta la humanidad en la actualidad. Es una clase que amplía perspectivas y explora posibilidades para la creación de un futuro mejor.
The Future Classes son fluidas e innovadoras; alientan a los estudiantes a investigar, explorar y descubrir los problemas que quieren ayudar a resolver, al tiempo que les brindan métodos de investigación efectivos y creativos para ayudarlos a comprender su tema y ejecutar un plan de acción preciso.
Se trata de una clase que promueve el desarrollo del pensamiento sistémico sostenible al tiempo que amplía la base de conocimientos del estudiante con información de vanguardia. Los estudiantes de la FCI adquieren una experiencia práctica internacional con impacto directo en el desarrollo y una plataforma para colaborar con otros estudiantes de todo el mundo.
En las asignatura de Inglés y Ciudadanía, se han realizado diferentes proyectos que abordan ODS, creando diferentes proyectos:
1º- han elaborado un proyecto para concienciar a la gente de que las mascotas son seres vivos que requieren de atención, y tenemos que ser responsables si adoptamos algún animal. Sus carteles pretenden animar a la gente a que, en lugar de comprar perros, gatos o cualquier mascota, vayamos a refugios para adoptarlos o, en su defecto, colaboremos para que los animales de los refugios puedan estar bien atendidos.
2º- han centrado su proyecto en concienciar a la gente sobre la importancia de reciclar nuestros residuos, ya que en todos los vecindarios disponemos de, al menos, los clásicos contenedores amarillo, azul y verde. Con esto, reducimos nuestra huella de carbono y, por tanto, contribuimos a reducir la contaminación en el mundo. También han elaborado carteles que se han pegado por el centro para que las familias y el resto de alumnado los vean.
The first edition of the project «The Future Class» was a resounding success for the students of the first year of high school at the Novaschool Medina Elvira International School.
The Future Class is an academic subject that addresses the present and how to build towards a more sustainable future. It educates students about issues that impact lives and initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goals that address some of the major problems facing humanity today. It is a class that broadens perspectives and explores possibilities for creating a better future.
The Future Classes are fluid and innovative; they encourage students to research, explore and discover the problems they want to help solve, while providing them with effective and creative research methods to help them understand their topic and execute an accurate plan of action.
It is a class that promotes the development of sustainable systems thinking while expanding the student’s knowledge base with cutting-edge information. FCI students gain international hands-on experience with direct developmental impact and a platform to collaborate with other students from around the world.
In the English and Citizenship course, different projects addressing SDGs have been carried out, creating different projects:
1st- they have developed a project to raise awareness that pets are living beings that require attention, and we have to be responsible if we adopt any animal. Their posters aim to encourage people that, instead of buying dogs, cats or any pet, we go to shelters to adopt them or, failing that, we collaborate so that animals in shelters can be well cared for.
2º- have focused their project on making people aware of the importance of recycling our waste, since in all neighborhoods we have, at least, the classic yellow, blue and green containers. By doing this, we reduce our carbon footprint and thus contribute to reducing pollution in the world. They have also made posters that have been posted around the school for families and other students to see.
In both cases, the two projects have had a research part, and the presentations have given specific data on animal abandonment figures or the amount of garbage that a person generates per year, among other issues.
